President's Welcome

Dear Nebraska ASHRAE Members,

Welcome to the 2012-2013 ASHRAE year! The board and committee chairs have an exciting year planned for our Nebraska Chapter. We are very fortunate to have several of our committee chairpersons returning this year and sharing their expertise with new co-chairs. I would like to thank all of them for their dedication, hard work, and great ideas necessary for coordinating meeting topics and speakers as well as social events and fundraisers for our chapter to be successful. Our website will be continuously updated with chapter meeting information as well as events hosted by other organizations that may be of interest to our membership.

Please see the updated Product Directory that is now available on our website. Thank you to all of our Product Directory advertisers! We are continuing to enhance our on-line technology and are open to any suggestions. Thank you for bearing with us while we implement online monthly meeting registration and payment. We will continue to receive meal payments for meetings at the door for a period of time with the hope that all transactions will be taken care of online at some point. Please contact our E-Commerce Chairperson, Eric Granzow or myself, with any questions or comments.

We have several opportunities available for anyone wanting to get involved. ASHRAE is creating a new committee, Grassroots Government Activities that will follow state government activities of interest to ASHRAE. We are looking for anyone interested in representing ASHRAE on the local Engineers Roundtable and assisting in planning E-week activities for next February. If anyone is interested in reviewing local codes and proposed changes, we are looking for someone to represent ASHRAE at these meetings. If you are interested in helping any of our chapter committees, we welcome any assistance and new ideas.
