President's Message:

Greetings Nebraska ASHRAE,

I don’t know about you all, but every year February is my least favorite month. It’s all the cold with none of the Christmas, and this year we seemed to have double downed on the worst parts of winter. But good news, we’re turning the corner into Spring, and with that comes some fun ASHRAE stuff!

Since we can’t seem to get out of our houses, we’ve adapted and are pleased to announce the very first ASHRAE virtual trivia night cocktail class musical guest extravaganza. The details are included in this newsletter, but our Chapter will be taking the highly successful trivia night online later this month and inviting/competing against other Chapters from across the country. Cocktail making has been my quarantine hobby, so I’m particularly looking forward to local chef/Dire Lion Food Truck owner Isiah Renner giving some tips on how to get restaurant quality libations without the whole going to a restaurant part. Money will be donated to ASHRAE COVID relief initiatives, so put your thinking caps on!

Also, I want to highlight the amazing work that our Government Affairs Committee has done over the past month. We met with 6 Nebraska State Senators as part of our Virtual Government Outreach Day and received a State wide proclamation declaring February 21st-27th National Engineers Week. Please thank and congratulate Peter Koneck-Wilwerding and Jeff McCaslin for leading the charge in advocating for ASHRAE with our elected officials.
